Follow Follow
There's not a team
Every other Saturday
La Reve Passe
Have you seen the Glasgow Rangers?
The Blue Flag
The Famous Glasgow Rangers
We'll support you ever more
How can you buy Willie Waddell?
The Ibrox disaster
Lift up your head Willie Woodburn
The legend of Willie Woodburn
The Blue sea of Ibrox
A trip to Ibrox
The Boys in royal blue
It's Rangers for me
The Rangers over here
Rally round the Rangers
The Ballad of Sam English
The Ballad of Allan Morton
Who's that team they call the Rangers

Follow Follow

Though the straits be broad or narrow,
It's Follow we will, Follow we will, Follow we will,
Though the straits be broad or narrow,
It's Follow we will,
we will Follow in the footsteps of our team,

Follow Follow we will Follow Rangers,
Anywhere, everywhere we will Follow on,
Follow Follow we will Follow Rangers,
If they go to Dublin (Europe?) we will Follow on

There's not a team

For there's not a team like the Glasgow Rangers,
No not one, and there never shall be one,
Celtic know all about their troubles,
We will fight till the day is done,
For there's not a team like the Glasgow Rangers,
No not one, and there never shall be one,

Every Other Saturday

Every other Saturday's my half day off
And it's off to the match I go,
Happily we wander down the Paisley Road
Me and my wee pal Jock,
We love to see the lassies with their blue scarfs on,
We love to hear the boys all roar,
But I don't have to tell that the best of all,
We love to see the Rangers score,

Me oh me oh me oh my, Oh how we love to see them try,
We love to see the lassies with their blue scarfs on,
We love to hear the boys all roar,
But I don't have to tell you that the best of all,
We love to see the Rangers score,

We've won the Scottish league about a thousand times
The Glasgow is as simple too,
We gave some exhibitions in the Scottish cup,
We gave some Wembley wizards too,
And when the Rangers win the European Cup,
As we've done with the one before,
We'll gather round at Ibrox park 100,000 strong,
And give the boys an Ibrox roar.

La Reve Passe

See them march on, marching on through the years of History
Heads held on high, for the jersey they would do or die
Fight fight for right, play the game wear the badge of glory
Win lose or draw, well thats the Glasgow Rangers story

See them march on, banners high as they fly before you
Loyal and true, on their way to cheer the boys in blue
Follow they will, marching on through the songs of glory
Win lose or draw, well thats the Glasgow Rangers story
.

Have you seen the Glasgow Rangers?

Have you seen the Glasgow Rangers
Have you seen the boys in blue
They're admired by all who know them
If you knew them so would you
Oh they have played way in Monaco
They have played in the USA
But the greatest game in history
Is the game on New years day

For it's the home of famous heroes
And their praises have been sung
Willie Waddell, Torry Gillick
Alan Morton and George Young
And when all my life has ended
And when death has made it's mark
Will you scatter all my ashes
On the slopes of Ibrox Park

And with the Angels I'll be singing
Up in heaven there up above
I'll be singing Follow Follow
To the Rangers that I love
And with my flute I will be playing
In the valleys and the glens
I'll be happy and contented
When the Rangers win again
.

The Blue Flag

Hello Hello, how do you do,
We are the boys, in Royal Blue,
Where e'er we go,
We fear no foe,
We'll keep the blue flag
Flying high,

Oh flying high up in the sky,
We'll keep the blue flag flying high,
Where e'er we go, we fear no foe,
We'll keep the blue flag flying high.

There is a team, a Glasgow team,
Who's colours they are white and green,
But when they meet the boys in blue,
They simply don't know what to do.

Oh flying high up in the sky,
We'll keep the blue flag flying high,
Where e'er we go, we fear no foe,
We'll keep the blue flag flying high.

The Famous Glasgow Rangers

As I was walking doon the Copland Road,
I met a bunch 'o' strangers,
They said to me, you going to see,
The famous Glasgow Rangers.

So I took them up to Ibrox Park,
To see the flags unfurl,
After that display they had to say
They're the champions of the world.

Some people they sing songs about
The land that they adore
And some of how they fought and won
Their countries greatest wars,
Some others still seem quite content
To use another theme,
But I can sing a song about
A famous football team

As I was walking doon the Copland Road,
I met a bunch 'o' strangers,
They said to me, you going to see,
The famous Glasgow Rangers.

We'll support you evermore

We'll support you ever more
We'll support you ever more
Glasgow Rangers, Glasgow Rangers
We'll support you ever more
We'll support you ever more
Glasgow Rangers, Glasgow Rangers.....

How Can you buy Willie Waddell

An Englishman landed in Edmiston Drive
And watched Willie Waddell with critical eye
"How can I buy him? "He asked Mr Struth
And Bill he replied, "I'll tell you the truth"

How can you buy all the cups that we've won
And how can you buy Mrs Thorton's son
How can you buy oor big Geordie Young?
And how can you buy Willie Waddell?
Nature bestowed all her gifts with a smile
The left foot, the right foot, the 'Noddle'
When you can buy all these wonderful things
Then you can buy Willie Waddell
"I'll give thirty thousand," the Englishman said
"And also a star," Mr Struth shook his head
"You can give thirty thousand, stars, moon and sun
But you still can't have Waddell, there's only one.

The Ibrox disaster

New Year Bells had been ringing,
All of Scotland was singing,
The old year had died,
And the new had been born.
As the news of disaster
From Ibrox came spreading,
The news that would cause
A whole nation to mourn

Two great goals had been scored,
In the last dying moments.
Jimmy Johnson for Celtic,
For Rangers’ young Stein.
Their supporters all cheered them,
With voices of thunder,
Unknowing what waited on staircase 13

66 people died
Some in flower of their manhood,
When the fences gave way
And the barriers bent,
Seasoned Glasgow policemen their faces all tearstained,
With brave efforts, endeavoured far worse to prevent.
All of Glasgow enjoined,
For the first time in history.
In the Glasgow cathedral no Billy’s, no Dan’s
But the Old Firm united to pray for their victims,
Of a tragedy set in the memory of man.

New Year Bells had been ringing,
All of Scotland was singing,
The old year had died,
And the new had been born.
As the news of disaster
From Ibrox came spreading,
The news that would cause
A whole nation to mourn
.

Lift up your head Willie Woodburn

Far from the filelds have risen
A face you'll see no more
A credit to the football field
And the colours that he wore
He wore the Rangers royal blue
He brought them fame and glory
His name will live forever more
In the Ibrox football story

No more he'll play at Ibrox
With Sammy by his side
And just because he broke the laws
His thoughts he could not hide
Now Willie don't you look so sad
For every man and woman
That stands upon the Ibrox slopes
We know you're only given

So lift up yer head Willie Woodburn
For we have faith in you
We know your hearts at Ibrox park
With the boys in royal blue.

Willie Woodburn

His name was Willie Woodburn
And his crime was too much heart
He gave his all for Rangers
On the field of Ibrox park
Then they banished him forever
With the one they call sine die
The name of Willie Woodburn
In our hearts will never dir

Why must he go, why can't he stay
He gave his all, that he might play
He gave his all, each Saturday
And left his heart down Ibrox way

Now the English down at Wembley
And the Welsh they know his name
Take a trip to dear old Belfast
And they'll tell you just the same
For no matter where you wander
Where they play this football game
There's a legend lives amongst them
Willie Woodburn is his name

Why must he go, why can't he stay
He gave his all, that he might play
He gave his all, each Saturday
And left his heart down Ibrox way.

The Blue sea of Ibrox

I have sailed the wild atlantic
Crossed the broad pacific shore
I've sailed around the stormy capes
And heard the forty's roar
I've plied the Indian ocean
I've sailed the China sea
But there's a sea back home in Scotland
More than all the rest to me

It's the blue blue blue sea of Ibrox
It's the greatest sight
That I have ever seen
It's the blue blue blue sea of Ibrox
And it's part of every
Rangers players dream

No more I'll sail the 7 seas
No more I'll ever roam
No more I'll feel the urge again
I'm back where I belong
At 3 O'clock each Saturday
I'll join the mighty throng
With flags and banners all around
I'll proudly sing this song

It's the blue blue blue sea of Ibrox
It's the greatest sight
That I have ever seen
It's the blue blue blue sea of Ibrox
And it's part of every
Rangers players dream
.

A Trip to Ibrox

I took a trip to Ibrox
My favourite team for to cheer
They were playing the Glasgow Celtic
On the 1st day of the year.
Now the ground was filled to capacity
As the teams came out to play,
The animals sang the soldiers song
And the people dollys brae.

Now the half time had came and went in
The Glasgow Celtic were in the lead,
Charlie Tully was running everywhere
Shakin his rosary beads
Well the green flags they were flying high
Celtics hearts they were full of pride.
But the second half sure it started well
And the Rangers they turned the tide.

Wont you play up the Glasgow Rangers,
Play up the boys in blue,
Play up the Glasgow Rangers
For were here to cheer on you.

Well the ball goes out to Waddle
And from 30 yards he did score,
Sure you coudn't hear your ears at Ibrox park
For the sash my father wore.

Oh play up the Glasgow Rangers,
Sammy Cox is on the ball,
He slips it through to Willy Woodburn
And on to Iain McCall.
Ian McCall to Billy Simpson,
Oh here come the boys in blue.
Simpson beats the Celtic center half
And in goes number 2.

Now the Rangers fans are roaring
As Geordie Young he takes a free.
Onto the head of Billy Simpson
And in goes number 3.
3:1 to the Glasgow Rangers
And that was the final score,
A happy new year at Ibrox park
For Rangers beat the Celtic once more,
A happy new year at Ibrox park
For Rangers beat the Celtic once more.

Boys In Royal Blue

There is a team down Ibrox way,
Who wear the royal blue,
They win by night they win by day,
With loyal hearts so true,
Their fame is known in foreign lands,
Where they have one reknown,
The Rangers process now demands,
A valiant victors crown.

Let Hearts and Celtic rise and fall,
They huvny got a clue,
But brightly shines abun them all,
The boys in royal blue.

If you would gang to Copland Road,
To see the lads in blue,
You'll always find a welcome there
For lads like me and you,
The Rangers fans will chant their hymn,
Their battle cry proclaims,
Oh Follow Follow Rangers on,
The Cry will be the same

Let Hearts and Celtic rise and fall,
They huvny got a clue,
But brightly shines abun them all,
The boys in royal blue.

It's Rangers for me

The English have Charlton
The Irish George Best
The Welsh have big Davis
You'll all ken the rest
Let the French win the Derby
Let the Yanks have the moon
But give me the Rangers
The pride o' the toon

They're the idols of Scotland
And each game they play
They try and they fight
Till the end of the day
When victory's theirs
In our hearts they will bring
This chorus I hope
You will help me to sing

It's Rangers, it's Rangers,
It's Rangers for me
If you're no' a Ranger
Yer no use to me
The Hibs and the Hearts
And the Thistle are proud
But they don't beat the Rangers
The pride o' them aw

From the banks of the wa'bash
To the sweet Zuider Zee!
From home on the range
Up to Bonny Dundee"
Just sing them this chorus
And soon they'll agree
It's Rangers it's Rangers it's Rangers for me

It's Rangers, it's Rangers,
It's Rangers for me
If you're no' a Ranger
Yer no use to me
The Hibs and the Hearts
And the Thistle are proud
But they don't beat the Rangers
The pride o' them aw

So here's to the lads in the Royal Blue
And here's to the lassies who follow them too
I don't want the Hibs, the Hearts or the Celts
I wish them the best(aye, right!) but I'll never forget
It's Rangers, it's Rangers, it's Rangers for me.

The Rangers over here

Now many years ago ma boys I left old Glasgow town,
I followed the anchor to Yankieland
And here I've settled down.
Although I miss the old Bridgeton Cross
And friends so near and dear
Oh what I'd give if I could have
The Rangers over here.

You can talk of California
With your sunshine all the year,
You can talk about your Broadway lights so clear
But it would fill my heart with gladness
It would fill my heart with cheer
If we only had the Rangers over here.

We're the finest team in all the land,
I'm sure that you'll agree.
To see them win is something grand,
Its part of 'history.
We're the boys who fear no noise ma lads
And I mean that quite sincere.
Oh what I'd give if I could haveThe Rangers over here.

You can talk of California
With your sunshine all the year,
You can talk about your Broadway lights so clear
But it would fill my heart with gladness
It would fill my heart with cheer
If we only had the Rangers over here.

Rally round the Rangers

From the mountains and the glens we are on the march again
Sounding out the battle cries so famous
And we're here to stake our claim, we're the greatest in the game
As we rally, rally, rally round The Rangers

It's rally, it's rally, it's rally we will
It's rally for Rangers, it's Ibrox for thrills
And we'll place the victory crown on the pride of Glasgow town
As we rally, rally, rally round The Rangers

From the valleys we have come to the sound of beating drum
Marching under Glasgow Rangers' banner
And we'll hoist the Union Jack on the slopes of Ibrox Park
As we rally, rally, rally round The Rangers.

The Ballad of Sam English

He was a proud young Protestant,
Sam English was his name
He played for Glasgow Rangers,
centre forward was his game
The Ibrox Crowd they loved him so,
they crowned him King of all
And every time he scored a goal,
they sang him ‘Derry’s Walls’

Now Sammy played his heart away
In Rangers’ Royal Blue
Until one tragic Saturday
When the fates were oh, so cruel
The Prince of Celtic goalies died
as Sammy tried his best
And all around the ground they whispered ‘
Johnny Thomson’s dead.’

Now Sammy suffered agony
for the rest of his career
The opposition taunted him
With cat-calls and with jeers
But Sammy wore the Rangers blue,
and Sammy he walked tall
And every time he scored a goal
We sang him ‘Derry’s Walls.’

And so that is the story my father told to me
He said ‘Now son, when you’re a man, just for Sammy’s memory
Each Saturday, down Ibrox way, whatever may befall,
Every time the Glasgow Rangers score will you sing Old Derry’s Walls.’

The Ballad of Alan Morton

He was a proud young Airdrie lad,
Alan Morton was his name
He played for Glasgow Rangers,
the left wing was his game
The Ibrox crowd, they loved him so,
they crowned him King of all
And every time he scored a goal,
they sang him ‘Follow on.’

Now Alan played his heart away
in Rangers’ Royal Blue
And then one famous Saturday
in Scotland’s darker hue
Young Alan laid the English low,
the legend it was born
And every time he scored a goal,
we sang him ‘Follow on'

And so that is the story
my father said to me
He said ‘Now son when you’re a man,
will you do one thing for me
Each Saturday down Ibrox way,
though Alan’s dead and gone
Every time the Glasgow Rangers score,
will you sing them Follow on’.

Who's that team

Some people say that Real Madrid's
The greatest football team
I've even heard the Anderlecht
The best they've ever seen
There's Manchester United
And Tottenham Hotspur too
There's Derby, Chelsea Blackburn
Just to name a famous few

But who's that team they call the Rangers
Who's that team they all adore
They're the boys in royal blue
And they're Scotlands galant few
And they're out to show the world what they can do

So bring on the Hibs the Hearts the Celtic
Bring on Spaniards by the score
Barcelona, Real Madrid they will make a gallant bid
For we're out to show the world what we can do

So here's a health tae Glasgow Rangers,
Here's a health frae me tae you,
And let's hope that every game,
Will immortalize the name
Of the boys who wear,
The famous royal blue.
